Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Don't submit contact information online or by phone. It could be sold to multiple people who will contact you until the end of time. 

  • Don't use a captive agent that represents only one company. They don't have a one size fits all solution. There is no one size fits all solution when it comes to insurance. (Note: Some "Independent Agents" are actually "captive" meaning that they will only have products that their captive agency allows them to sell.) 

  • Medicare, the IRS, and Social Security will never call you out of the blue. If you receive a call that says otherwise, they're trying to get your information. Hang up and report it.

  •  Beware of "junk plans" that claim to be major medical. These are plans that have caps on services. In short, the benefits are usually reversed in a way that the insurance company has a max out of pocket instead of the insured.

Benefits: It doesn't increase your premiums to have me as your an agent, it avoids the pitfalls mentioned above, and it saves time shopping individual insurance companies.


As an Independent Broker /Agent, my goal is to offer every Medicare plan option available.  Medicare requires this disclaimer verbatim even though I do offer every plan available in Tulsa County except for I-SNPs which are MA plans for individuals in an institution.  Medicare Disclaimer: "We do not offer every plan available in your area.  We represent a number of MA organizations, which offer products in your area.  Any information we provide is limited to those plans we do offer in your area.  Please contact Medicare.gov 1-800-medicare or your local State Health Insurance  Program to get information on all of your options.
